1. General information about cookies
- 1.1 Definition

  Cookies are small text files that are sent to and stored on the computer or mobile device of the user who visits a website, and then retransmitted to the same website on the next visit. Cookies allow the website to remember the user’s behavior and preferences (e.g. login data, preferred language or other display settings), so that they do not have to be specified again on subsequent visits or when navigating between pages. Cookies are used for authentication purposes, session monitoring and storing information about users’ activities on the website. They may contain unique identifiers that allow tracking of users’ navigation and experience on the site for statistical or advertising purposes. While browsing, the user’s computer or mobile device may also receive cookies from servers or websites other than the one being visited (so-called third-party cookies). Some operations may be impossible without cookies, which are sometimes technically necessary for the functioning of the website.

  The main categories into which cookies can be divided are as follows:
  - session or persistent cookies;
  - technical or profiling cookies;
  - first-party or third-party cookies.
- 1.2 Session and persistent cookies

  Cookies may expire at the end of a browser session (the period between the opening of a browser window by the User and its closure) or may be stored for a longer period of time. Session cookies are those that allow websites to link a user’s actions during a browser session. Session cookies expire when the browser session ends. Persistent cookies are stored on the user’s device between browser sessions, for varying periods of time, and allow the user’s preferences or actions regarding a website to be remembered.
- 1.3 Technical and profiling cookies

  Technical cookies are those used by the website owner solely for the purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the user to provide that service. The installation of such cookies does not require the prior consent of users when used directly by the website operator.

  Profiling cookies are intended to create profiles relating to the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the internet. Due to the particular intrusiveness that such cookies may have within users’ private sphere, European and Italian regulations require that the User be adequately informed about their use, through a short notice ( banner ) and an extended notice available on the website, and that the User provide explicit consent the first time they visit the website. Such consent may be expressed generally by interacting with the short information banner displayed on the landing page of the website, in the manner indicated in that banner , or it may be given or denied selectively, according to the methods indicated below. A record of this consent is kept for subsequent visits. However, the user always has the option to revoke, in whole or in part, the consent already given.
- 1.4 First-party and third-party cookies

  A cookie is considered “first-party” (so-called first party cookie ) or “third-party” (so-called third party cookie ) depending on the website or domain from which it originates.

  First-party cookies are essentially cookies set and managed by the website owner. For these cookies, the obligation to provide information, obtain any prior consent and/or enable the blocking of cookies lies with the website owner.

  Third-party cookies are cookies set by a domain different from the one visited by the user. For these cookies, the obligation to provide information and indicate the methods for any consent and/or blocking of cookies lies with the third party, while the website owner is only required to include on the site the link to the third party’s website where such elements are available.

2. Use of cookies by the website

2.1 Introduction

Below you will find all the information regarding the cookies installed on the Website straniere and the necessary instructions on how to manage your preferences regarding them.

2.2 First-party cookies

The first-party cookies used by the Data Controller on the Website are technical in nature and can be divided into the following subcategories:

navigation cookies , through which browsing preferences can be saved and the User’s browsing experience optimized;
functionality cookies , used to activate specific features of the Website and necessary to provide or improve the service.

As specified in the previous paragraph, these Cookies, being technical in nature, do not require the User’s prior consent to be installed and used; it is sufficient to provide this notice.

The first-party cookies used on the Website are listed below:

Name	Function	Duration
*Navigation cookies*
i18n_redirected	Stores the user’s language preferences	1 year
*Functionality cookies*
cookie_control_consent, cookie_control_enabled_cookies	Cookie used to store acceptance of the cookie policy	1 year

2.3 Third-party cookies Through this Website, cookies managed by third parties ( third party cookies ) are also used. Below are some details and the links to the privacy policies and consent forms of each third party. The Data Controller specifies that, with regard to third-party cookies , it is required to include in this cookie policy the link to the third party’s website. It is the responsibility of that party, however, to provide an appropriate privacy notice regarding the processing carried out and to inform Users about the methods for any blocking of the cookies used. The first category of third-party cookies present on the Website is analytical cookies: in particular, these cookies consist of Google Analytics, which allow analysis of users’ use of the Website and optimization of its performance.

Google Analytics (Google Inc.)

The table below lists the specific types of Google Analytics in use and their function.

Name	Function	Duration
_ga	Website access statistics	2 years
_gid	User distinction	24 hours
_gat	Used to limit the request rate	24 hours

For detailed information regarding the above-mentioned cookies, please consult Google’s privacy policy at the following link www.google.it/intl/it/policies/privacy , where the user can obtain information about the relevant processing and provide consent accordingly. It should be noted that the information collected by the above-mentioned cookies is anonymized in advance before being sent to the third-party owner. Therefore, this information does not allow users to be personally identified. The second category of third-party cookies present on the Website consists of functionality cookies: these cookies allow the Website to remember the choices made by the user in order to optimize functionality. For example, functionality cookies allow the website to remember a user’s specific settings.

3. Methods for controlling cookies

In addition to what is indicated in the previous paragraph regarding the possibility of disabling cookies by accessing the link where the relevant third-party privacy policy is available, the user may manage preferences relating to cookies directly within their own browser and prevent – for example – third parties from installing them. Through the browser preferences it is also possible to delete cookies installed in the past, including the cookie in which consent to the installation of cookies by this Website may have been saved. It is important to note that by disabling all cookies, the functioning of this Website may be compromised.
