| The photograph depicts a pre-Columbian terracotta articulated doll belonging to the Teotihuacan culture (Mexico). On the back of the image is a reference to the gallery of Henri and Helene Kamer, both art dealers and among the most influential collectors of African and non-European art in the mid-twentieth century.
