Anthropomorphic mask from the Dan people, Mali or Côte d'Ivoire. It is distinguished by its harmonious, perfectly oval face with softly modeled features. The small eyes are rendered as little more than narrow horizontal slits within the expertly shaped surface. The work is part of the Bassani Collection (inv. AFR 00029 2513A).
