Mask from the Bwa or Mossi people (?) of Burkina Faso, associated with the Do society and representing an owl, a bird symbolizing magical powers. The visual effect of the mask relies less on sculptural volume than on its geometric design and the chromatic contrasts of white, black, and red. It features concentric eyes, a mouth opening, and a beak positioned above it. The work is part of the Bassani Collection (inv. AFR 00023 2513A).
