Statua

Statue of the Dogon people of Mali, dating to the 20th century. The sculpture depicts a standing female anthropomorphic figure characterized by a narrow cylindrical torso, large conical breasts positioned at shoulder height, and slender arms extending downward to touch the projecting truncated-conical abdomen, with the hands not represented. The short, sturdy legs rest on a circular base. The face is rendered as a flat plane, with the brow ridge defined by the projection of the forehead and a triangular-shaped nose. The work is part of the Bassani Collection and is housed at the MUDEC – Museum of Cultures in Milan (inv. AFR 00010 2513A).
