Mask

Headdress crest head of the Ejagham people, Cameroon, dating to the 20th century. The sculpture features a rounded and voluminous head, with eyes emphasized by metal relief details, a well-defined nose, and an open mouth displaying the full set of teeth. Facial scarifications are rendered with particular prominence. Three small horns and a hairstyle made of human hair attached to the head further enhance the realism of the representation. The work belongs to the Laura and Franco Monti Collection and is housed at MUDEC – Museo delle Culture di Milano (inv. 00026).
