Descrizione
Fragment of a statue (head), dated to the 13th century (?), attributable to the Sapi people (Sierra Leone). Male anthropomorphic head, with closed eyes marked by heavy upper eyelids, a nose with flared nostrils, full lips, and a carefully rendered hairstyle. From the Monti collection, the work is currently housed at the MUDEC in Milan.
