Statue

Anthropomorphic statue attributable to the cultural context of the Senufo people (Ivory Coast), dating to the 20th century. The elongated figure rises from a tall pedestal carved from the same block of wood, which serves as its base. The arms, bent and detached from the torso, and the elaborate hairstyle, together with the presence of an insignia of command or a weapon on the shoulder, indicate the depiction of an individual of high rank. The work, from the Franco and Laura Monti Collection, is currently housed at the MUDEC - Museo delle Culture.
