Introductory text for the exhibition on Oceanian art written by Pellegrino Claudio Sestieri. Sestieri situates the exhibition within a broader cycle of exhibitions — including one held in 1967 on Pre-Columbian materials from Peru and another planned for the following year, 1972, on materials from the Eastern Mediterranean — intended to promote and enhance the collections of the Museo Pigorini.
