Helene Kamer

Hélène Kamer was an African art collector active during the 20th century. Through her travels, direct contacts and constant interest in the cultures of sub-Saharan Africa, she assembled a significant collection of works and artefacts, including sculptures, ritual objects and everyday items. Her collecting activities contributed to the dissemination and appreciation of African art in Europe and in museums, and part of her collections are now preserved in public institutions and archives.
