Descrizione
Page from an album of historical photographs (album no. 48, page 0024r), Richard-Ginori Manufacture. The page features two photographs: one depicting a horse figure, and the other of the terracotta fawns from San Cristoforo. The fawn (model 6668), in particular, is a well-known invention by Gariboldi, which also appeared on the cover of «Domus» in September 1936. Critics have noted that it is directly derived from an Eastern source: a carved jade figure published in the catalog of the great Chinese art exhibition held in Berlin in 1929 (Austellung chinesischer Kunst, exhibition catalog, Berlin 1929, p. 394, cat. 1084)
