Rectangular soft-paste porcelain ashtray with celadon glaze [inv. 3258]. Richard-Ginori Ceramic Society, 1930 (decoration and form). In this case, the reference to non-Western cultures concerns both the decoration (a variation on the Oriental theme of the Buddhist swastika) and the material of the object. The ashtray is part of a series of works made in porcelain and coated with celadon glaze, clearly inspired by Chinese tradition.
