Descrizione
Soft-paste porcelain teapot with celadon glaze [inv. 6402]. Richard-Ginori Ceramic Company, 1930 (form). With regard to its relationship to non-Western arts and cultures, this object is particularly interesting for its use of celadon glaze, derived from Chinese prototypes. It is also possible that the teapot’s hexagonal form, part of a service called Exagon, was influenced by certain Chinese hexagonal teapots, which were likewise coated in celadon.
