Descrizione
Bolo in porcelain, chromo-decorated in red and gold and hand-painted in red and gold [inv. 3334]. Richard-Ginori Ceramic Company, 1926 (decoration). The Labirintesca decoration was created in 1926 and was applied to a wide variety of objects. Regarding its connection to non-Western arts and cultures, this object is interesting from two perspectives. While the Labirintesca motif is described by Ponti as “classical-Oriental,” the form of the bolo itself may also contain Oriental reminiscences.
