Baboon and the Balls, soft-paste porcelain with celadon glaze, Richard-Ginori Ceramics Company, 1930 (decoration and form). The modeling of the object is attributed to Fausto Melotti, while no information is available regarding the conception of the subject; it is therefore unclear whether it should likewise be attributed to the artist from Rovereto or to Gio Ponti. The models for this form in any case mark the beginning of the collaboration between Melotti and Ponti within the Richard-Ginori Manufactory.
