Descrizione
The photograph depicts a painted, polychrome ceramic vessel from the Pre-Columbian period; its main decoration is characterised by a portrait of a deity on the front of the vessel. The figure probably depicts the god Viracocha, the main Inca deity (12th-16th century) or the primitive “God of Sticks” belonging to the culture of the Tiahuanaco civilisation (200-600 AD).
The vase has two small loop-shaped side handles.
