Photograph of a cup published in the volume by Franco Monti Terrecotte precolombiane, Fratelli Fabbri Editori, Milan 1966, p. 105. The photograph is accompanied by the brief caption: “Footed cup. Province of Veraguas, Panama. New York, Museum of the American Indian” and by a more extended description: “Footed cup. H. cm. 25.4. Province of Veraguas, Panama. New York, Museum of the American Indian. This is the most typical form of Panamanian pottery; the decoration, based on extremely stylised animal motifs in which curved lines predominate and arranged in perfect symmetry, also adheres to the traditional repertoire.”
