Journalist, photographer and co-director of documentaries. The turning point in her career came in January 1968 when she decided to leave for Angola to witness the guerrilla warfare conducted by the liberation movement against the Portuguese colonial occupation. His images of the poorly dressed fighters parading with sticks instead of rifles drew the attention of the international community to the oppressive condition suffered by the Angolan people and the heroism of the rebels. She is a long-time correspondent for the Italian and especially the French media from southern Africa, contributes to numerous publications and in think tanks on geopolitical issues, and also works for think tanks in South Africa on post-apartheid issues.
