Descrizione

The book is composed of texts written by Fernanda Pivano and photographs taken by Ettore Sottsass Junior, gathered in a very simple layout. It was printed in Milan in only 300 copies for the independent publishing house East 128, founded by the two authors. It is divided into eleven chapters: two are set in France, one in Egypt, two in Italy and five in India. The first is an exception, which takes inspiration from a statuette seen at the Louvre to tell a story about Babylonian myths. Of the eleven chapters, eight are illustrated with a photograph: three of these were taken in France, one in Egypt, one in Italy and three more in India. The three illustrated stories relating to the trip to India were chosen for this occasion, respectively entitled Apsaras in Sigiriya, Maithuna in Konarak and Chotri in Madras.
