Biografia
He learned the first elements of painting at the age of 50 and became one of the masters of Yang-Chou, Kiangsu province. It was said of him: «He was very independent and had little veneration for the ancient masters». He was also a calligrapher and poet, writing "Annotations on paintings" (From the catalog of the Exhibition of Chinese paintings of Ming and Ch'ing dynasties, Rome 1950, p. 74).
